Healthy snack recipes abound. There is a problem however with the way you think about snacks. Let’s explore what constitutes a health snack food then we will build them into healthy snack recipes.

Fast Food Is Bad

The first thing you have to admit to yourself is that fast food is bad for you. Of course you know this. It is a well-known fact.

But what is a fast food?

Why is it bad for you?

Let’s take those questions in order.

What is fast food? Fast food is ready-to-eat victuals. It may be a burger and fries from the local fast food joint. Or it may be a “quick snack” wrapped in cellophane. Any food of this type is bad for you.

Why are they bad? Fast foods are bad for you because they usually contain high amounts of fat, some of which are the particularly harmful trans-fats. Trans-fats are chemically changed to give foods containing them a longer shelf life.

Unfortunately, trans-fats have been shown by numerous studies to promote heart and arterial disease. It may take years or decades for these disease processes to present themselves but they cause havoc (and possibly even death) when they do become evident.

Fast foods also contain unnecessarily large amounts of sugar and/or salt which can be harmful in the long run. Studies have shown arterial plaques forming in very small children who consume these types of foods. That is reason for alarm.

So what food is good for a snack?

Wise Eating

Naturally healthy foods such as raw vegetables make excellent healthy snacks. The raw food enzymes found in them are necessary for proper digestion and a number of bodily functions.

But what if you don’t like vegetables?

You can use a cream cheese fruit dip as a vegetable dip. A sweet, creamy dip may help you make the transition to healthier eating. Try this dip and serve it with vegetables and fruit.

Cream Cheese And Yogurt Vegetable/Fruit Dip

*Eight ounces of fat free cream cheese, softened
*Eight ounces of non-fat plain yogurt
*Two tablespoons of honey

Beat cream cheese until fluffy then slowly add yogurt and honey while continuing to beat the mix. Garnish with alternating strips of shredded coconut and finely ground nuts (walnuts or pecans work well).

The folks who are into healthy eating know that wise eating habits include preparing tasty foods that just happen to be good for you. You can’t expect to eat foods that don’t taste good.

Olive Oil Bread/Vegetable Dip

Olive oil is a good foundation for a heart smart diet and is easily used to create healthy snack recipes.

To slowly change your eating habits to a more healthy style you have to take baby steps. This will allow you time to learn to appreciate new foods you may not have tried before.

Try this snack idea:
Mix the following in a shallow bowl:
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon minced garlic (from a jar is fine)
1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon kosher salt

Pour 1/3-cup extra virgin olive oil (first pressed) over the seasoning mixture. Serve with hearty whole grain bread. Don’t use tasteless white bread!

Cut the whole grain bread into strips and toast in the oven on a baking sheet. You can stagger strips of colorful raw vegetables in a circular pattern on a platter interspersed with strips of toasted bread to make a great visual presentation for your snack.

It is a wonderful snack for a guest that doesn’t take much time to prepare and is good cheap food so it’s easy on your wallet.

What a deal!

Gum infections and unhygienic dental routine give rise to bleeding gums. This is the first sign that you need to take care of your teeth and mouth hygiene on a daily basis. It is also a sign of impending periodontal diseases like gingivitis, cavities and loosening of gums. Other related symptoms are frequent toothache, bad breath, gums that are receding, plaque built up.

Bacterial infections are a major cause of these symptoms as gum infections and diseases spread fast. The bacteria develop when you don’t clean your teeth properly while it in turn leads to built up of tartar and plaque. An overall increase in this growth coupled with poor dental hygiene practices leads to bleeding, receding gums and bad breath. Gingivitis which shows symptoms of bleeding, swollen gum is a serious problem. Ignoring such severe problem finally leads to teeth loss even at an early age.

In case, you have similar symptoms, then you should immediately take precautions to stop further deterioration. Mouth hygiene is very important aspect of keeping not only your teeth clean but also the gums healthy. Even if you do not suffer from any dental problems, you should brush your teeth at least twice a day, especially at night before sleeping. It s best to use herbal based non fluoride toothpastes or toothpaste for sensitive teeth.

Dental care routine is as important as other regimen like walking, skin care and should be taken seriously. There are many products available in the market, which claim to do away with yellow teeth, bad breath and tighten the gums, but there is no miracle cure for any dental problem. It is only through proper brushing, flossing and cleaning the mouth that bleeding gums and related problems can be reduced.

Use good quality dental hygiene products whether they are mouthwashes, toothpaste or even tooth brushes. Intake of Vitamin C in better quantities with increase in calcium in your diet is on sure shot way of improving your teeth related problems. Salt has curative powers when it comes to toothache. Gargle with some salt mixed in warm water each time you eat something. You will not have any bacteria left in your mouth to spread!

Tea Tree oil and eucalyptus oil can be added to your toothpaste and teeth brushed with it can greatly increase your chances of having healthy teeth and gums, the herbal way. Bleeding gums, receding gums and swelling, loosening of teeth are all reduced by taking small steps in the right direction with herbal ingredients. These are just small home remedies which can help you, but use good quality products and brush regularly to eradicate dental problems and increase mouth hygiene.

Contact lenses like glasses, are predominantly used to correct defective vision rather than a fashion accessory, but unlike glasses which are an object periphery to the eyes, contact lenses are found directly in the eye, with the thin disc placed over the delicate membrane.

A common misconception about contact lenses is that there is “one type to fit all” when in reality, the different eye problems people have will require different types of contact lenses to fix them.

Therefore, if you do need to use contact lenses, please make sure that you consult an optician who will be able to advise you more directly as to which kind of lenses you will need.

A common fallacy of the unwary consumer is that they opt for a leading brand name such as Purevision Contact Lens, and take this as “proof” as to the suitability of that product for their particular problem. This, as outlined and identified earlier within the article, is simply not good enough.

Whilst the cost of contact lenses is obviously a crucial factor (as unlike glasses, they need to be replaced on a frequent basis) it is important that you factor in your own personal preferences as well.

The “hard lenses” are extremely robust and durable lenses, which will last for quite a long time and are also very affordable as well. These offer the best value for money, in terms of the savings that they offer.

That said however, they are not particularly comfortable and they are not well suited or equipped for those people who suffer from particularly sensitive eye problems. This can be readily determined by asking your optician.

Some types of hard lenses have been specially treated so that they allow oxygen to get through the lenses, thereby helping to retain moisture within the eyes and Purevision Contact Lens offer great prices on this particular type of contact lens.

From my own experience and research I found the easiest and 3 basic tips to keep your beta fish not only alive but healthy and happy, whenever you can. I believe that not only help you learn to be a better owner, but also help your beta, life expectancy. Finally, the information that comes out of these will help the life expectancy of your fish. All three play an important part in increasing life expectancy.

Trust me, the first time that your Betta will be making the web their own research as you are now in all aspects of fish life beta.

1. The beta fish should not live with another and always remain by themselves. If there is not enough space for your fish to swim around then your beta fish could become claustrophobic. Male Betta fish are likely to fight if in the same tank as another male.

2. A great way to increase the life expectancy of a fish is by having the right water temperature. It should be about 73 degrees to maintain normal levels of blood and help them live a healthy life, I advise you to filter and get a thermometer and check frequently. This is important because Betta lived in ponds and streams, it would be difficult for them to change the temperature to maintain their right.

3. Beta fish come from countries like Thailand and Vietnam.Another thing to be sure of sunlight to limit their serum are not hot and reach their life expectancy below doesn’t.

When I had my beta always made sure to keep the lid on the tank so you could jump. I would want to clean my tank at least three to four times a month. That way the water was always fresh.

Most Beta fish have a life expectancy of up to 2-3 years. There are plenty of resources online about Betta fish. Try to Google it.

Are you embarrassed by yellow teeth? Do you want to bleach, but do not know which product to use? Are they all the same? Of course they are not.

As a registered dental hygienist, I have studied the different tooth whitening products. Here is what it all boils down to. It’s all in the percentage of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The higher percentage will give the best results. For over-the-counter whitening products, federal regulations will only allow up to 10% H2O2. For example, Crest Whitestrips contains 6%. Whitestrips will lighten your tooth shade by maybe 1 or 2 shades. For people with already white teeth but just need a little extra help, this will work fine for them.

For those who need more help, there are alternatives. You will need to get these from your dentist. Professional strength whitestrips are 14% peroxide. These work great for many people. These may lighten your teeth 5 to 7 shades. The kit contains 21 days worth of strips. Use these only 1 to 2 hours a day.

The next step up is bleaching trays. Your dentist will have to make these for you. These will be customized to fit your teeth. You buy the bleach to put in the trays. The bleach for these trays comes in 10%, 15% and 20%. Most people cannot handle 20% as it makes their teeth very sensitive. Usually the bleach comes in 4 syringes. It is enough for 4 weeks if you bleach 1 time a week.

Then there is the professional in-office bleaching. And again, there are different strengths. Zoom, Bright Smiles, and Opalescence range from 10% to 38%. Zoom and Bright Smiles uses a light to help. Opalescence does not use a light. Studies have shown that the light does not do really do anything. The tooth bleaches to a certain shade with or without the light. The 38% peroxide will lighten from 15 to 18 shades. This is not always the case. Everyone is different. Yellow teeth bleach easier than gray teeth. Tetracycline stained teeth may need 2 professional appointments with a series of at-home treatments. Please discuss with your dentist or dental hygienist which option will work best for you.

Cost will make a difference in your decision.
1. OTC whitestrips – $30.00
2. Professional whitestrips – $ 60.00 – 80.00
3. Bleaching trays – $150.00 – 300.00
4. Bleach to put in trays – $30.00 – 50.00
5. Professional in-office bleaching – $200.00 – 600.00 (some include trays)

Stains from cigarette, coffee, tea, wine, and food must be removed by a dental hygienist before whitening. The bleach cannot reach the teeth through these extrinsic stains.

If your teeth become sensitive after bleaching, here are some things you can do. Gel cam is a fluoride gel in a tube that works very well. You can rub it on your teeth and leave on for 4 minutes or put it in bleaching trays for 1 hour. Gelcam can be bought at a store like Wal-Mart or your dentist office. Fluoride rinses from the drugstore are milder but will help a little. Some dental offices carry desensitizing gels.

I hope I have made your tooth whitening decisions a little easier. Everyone feels prettier when they have a beautiful smile.

It should be well connected to the rest of the house so that the pranic energy, entering through it, can reach to each and every corner of the house.

Windows:-Windows contribute to a flow of energy within the house.

An increasing number of pet owners are choosing to switch from commercially produced pet foods to a more natural diet for their pet, even going to the extent of using a homemade cat food recipe in order to make more natural, healthy food for their cat than what is offered by their pet store. These homemade cat food diets can work well for those who have pets with specific nutritional needs as well. As with any change to your cat’s diet, consult with your vet before beginning to use homemade cat food recipes – not all cats may be able to have a homemade diet due to medications or underlying health problems.

Keep in mind before choosing a homemade cat food recipe that there are ingredients that musty be avoided – onions, pork, chocolate, milk, raw eggs (cooked eggs are fine), fish or bones. All of these ingredients are deleterious to your cat’s health. What you should know is that cats require a diet which is very high in protein; five times greater than a dog’s protein requirements. Tuna should also be avoided or used in very small quantities due to the mercury content in most commercially produced tuna.

So what should go into a homemade cat food recipe? Ground meats and small amounts of vegetables along with supplements and flavorings like kelp, garlic and brewer’s yeast all make for a healthy diet for your cat. One sample recipe follows:

(Cook these all together for an easier preparation and cleanup afterwards)

4oz meat, either beef or poultry
1 tbsp. carrot
1 tbsp. cottage cheese
1 tbsp. sunflower oil.

Flavorings (kelp powder, garlic powder, nutritional yeast powder) in small amounts – maybe a pinch.
This recipe will produce about one to two servings for an average adult cat; adjust the amount of ingredients up or downwards as needed to produce more food. You can refrigerate the leftovers, but the same rules apply as for leftovers you would eat yourself – use or freeze leftovers within a few days after making.

As you can see, it can be easy to make a healthy diet for your cat at home all by yourself. You won’t have to worry about all of the additives and byproducts employed by the commercial cat food industry and can finally feel good about what your pet eats. By using a healthy homemade cat food recipe, you can make home made cat food which will keep your pet in good health and appeal to their tastes.

Boneless skinless chicken breast recipes are easy to make, quick to get to table, and good for you. The most common way to prepare them involves oven cooking to reduce fat content that frying may not offer.

However, if small amounts of olive oil are used for frying many recipes can be developed which are faster than oven baking and just as nutritious. One such recipe is Chesapeake Chicken.

Chesapeake Chicken

Chicken breasts
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 Tbsp. butter
1 to 2 Tbsp.Old Bay seasoning
3/4 cup Low fat whipping cream

Fry chicken breasts in olive oil and butter until almost cooked (15-25 minutes)
Add Old Bay seasoning to taste (2 Tbsp is a very spicy amount)
Add low fat whipping cream
Simmer until thickened, stirring occasionally

Oven Baked Chicken Breast

This low fat meat should be a vital component of any healthy diet plan. It is a relatively inexpensive source of quality protein.

As tasty as this is you have to remember that you don’t need as much protein as Americans usually eat every day. Your daily protein requirement is a piece of meat approximately the size of a pack of playing cards. Keeping that visual in mind will help you determine proper portion size.

Oven Baked Chicken Breast With Onions And Bell Pepper

Chicken Breasts
2 medium onions, sliced
2 bell peppers, cut into rings then halve rings
3 Tbsp. olive oil
2 Tbsp. butter
Sea salt to taste

Coat the chicken breasts with 1 Tbsp. of olive oil and place into baking pan
Sprinkle chicken breasts with sea salt
Bake chicken uncovered in 350 degree preheated oven for 45 minutes
Place onions in a skillet with 1 Tbsp. of butter and 1 Tbsp. olive oil then saut

If you have oily skin you know that finding suitable anti aging products can be a challenge. Many common ingredients can cause acne outbreaks and irritated skin. But once you discover the secrets of the best anti aging products for oily skin it becomes much easier.

1. Free of Drying Agents

Ingredients like alcohols are drying to the skin, which may seem good if you have oily skin, but they can promote premature aging of the skin and brown spots. There are much more effective ways to deal with excess oil in skin out there – you don’t need to risk the health of your skin to make it look good.

2. Completely Natural

Regular anti aging products for oily skin contain a wide variety of chemicals, some of which are carcinogenic and others that cause skin irritation. The best alternative lies in natural products, as they are completely safe and very effective providing they have the best ingredients.

3. No Mineral Oil!

Mineral oil is the worst thing for oily skin, it clogs the pores causing acne flare-ups and irritation. It is a common ingredient in anti aging creams and also goes under the names petrolatum, liquid paraffin and paraffin wax. With that said, know that all oils are not bad for your skin, in fact some even improve oilier skin.

4. Powerful Anti Aging Substances

In order to have anti aging effects on your skin there needs be ingredients that target the causes of skin aging in the cream. For example Cynergy TK which targets the age-related decrease of collagen production and stimulates the collagen growth. Other effective ingredients are Nano-Lipobelle H-EQ10, natural vitamin E, and Phytessence Wamake.

5. Sebum Balancing Ingredients

All anti aging products for oily skin should contain ingredients that help balance the skin’s production of oil (sebum). Ironically the substances that do this best are certain plant oils, for example Jojoba Oil. Maracuja, a passion fruit extract, is another good one. It is rich in essential fatty acids and helps regulate your production of sebum so the skin neither becomes too oily nor too dry.

Everyone is unique and choosing the best multivitamin that will work for your unique body is important for it to have any effect on you. Everyone has different needs. Toddlers and school age children have different needs then teens. Men have different needs then women. Older people have different needs then younger people. The list goes on and on! The point is that finding the best multivitamin for you is important for optimum health. One size does not fit all when it comes to finding the best multivitamin.

Needs per Age Group

2 to 12 Year Age Group

This age group is made up of children who are picky eaters. This is the age group where children begin to develop their own personalities and food preferences. Unfortunately, many children during this stage steer away from those foods that are good for them and are all too happy to pass up green beans for a candy bar. Of course, parents will not generally allow them to replace green beans with a candy bar, but it is still like pulling teeth trying to get a three year old to choose the green beans.

The best multivitamin for this age group is one that tastes great, but is sugar free. It must also provide higher levels of the important nutrients necessary for children at this age. An all natural company is a great place to look for the best multivitamin for your child in this age group.

Young Adults up to 18 Years Old Age Group

During this age, teens are experiencing more freedom. They have more access to “junk food” as they tend to be places more often without their parents. Because of these high sugar and starch consumptions, their bodies are susceptible to brittle bone development, juvenile diabetes, early stages of arteriosclerosis, depression, and liver strain. Liver strain can process high levels of hormones that can lead to severe fatigue.

The best multivitamin for this age group would be a multivitamin that contains minerals for good bone development and nervous system support for stress management. It will also contain vitamins for the major organ functions and special antioxidants to protect against aging and poor cell development. It should also contain digestive enzymes and other vitamins to boost the immune system, such as: vitamins, C, E, A, and others.

Boys should choose iron free versions unless they need iron according to their pediatrician. Girls need iron on a regular basis, especially during their pre-menstruating and active menstruating. The best multivitamin is all natural, sugar free and has the necessary nutrients to target the above areas.

Needs per Gender

· The best multivitamin for women is one that focuses on stress management, maintains a healthy body for pregnancy, and maintains a healthy bone density. Women need to maintain that healthy bone density since bone development is done by this stage of your life. You should choose a multivitamin that contains the necessary vitamins and minerals to address common issues for women, such as low thyroid function, low calcium, low zinc and magnesium consumption due to dieting. It also should contain antioxidants to prevent heart disease.

· Men are at risk for heart disease. Iron consumption can be a risk for heart disease and cancer and is building up in the body. It is essential that men do not take a multivitamin that contains iron. Men should get the correct amount of zinc and copper to prevent erectile dysfunction. The best multivitamin should contain minerals to promote healthy blood pressure and antioxidants to help prevent high cholesterol.

Choosing the best multivitamin for you is essential to your health. An all natural multivitamin that contains the necessary nutrients for your needs is the best multivitamin for you.
